In this final gala performance of
the Composer Laureate for Schools project, the SCO joins
forces with eighty young musicians from the Edinburgh
Secondary Schools Orchestra for a performance of Six
Shades of Blue, Rory Boyle's third and final commission
for the City of Edinburgh, written specially for this
occasion.
It is played alongside new music by
young composers from schools across Edinburgh.
Before the SCO joins ESSO on stage,
the Schools Orchestra performs with the winning soloist
of its annual concerto competition.
