Think you can’t write music?
Think again...
Through icompose.org you can learn about and use Figurenotes©, the revolutionary music notation system developed in Finland. The system uses colour and shape to convey the same musical information as conventional music notation and can be used by children and adults alike to read music, play an instrument and compose.
Look out for the Figurenotes resource coming online soon with everything you need to get started.
Drake Music Scotland has recently won a Scottish Arts Council Inspire Fund award to bring Figurenotes to Scotland
“The wonderful thing about Figurenotes is that…it has opened up a route for anyone to find a pathway into music education, including people with learning difficulties.”
Brian Cope, Artistic Director Drake Music Scotland
